Best restaurant in Mammoth. Love that they immediately ask if you need a vegetarian menu. Only one vegan entree but it’s absolutely delicious. They also have a vegan dessert. This spot is always a must while we’re in Mammoth.

Good for you, you found me! They call that a win-win Remember the last time you wished you could be in two places at the same time? Score! So you're in Mammoth Lakes for skiing or hiking, but the Caribbean Islands and their culture are calling you…big time? Especially their food! And you say to yourself, "No way Mammoth has any decent fried tostones, Maduros, sweet plantains, yuca al Mojo in garlic sauce, rice with red or black beans, pork and steak, or that infamous 'Cubano sando', coconut bread pudding, or best of all…that sweet and silky Flan, just no way" You'd be sooo, so wrong…follow me! Just walk through that inconspicuous door, and you'll immediately be blown away… And transported…(you pick your island) The colors, the sound, (as in live music), the aromas, the energy, and all the conversation and laughter around you. That's what good food does, it excites and even elevates you while you create 'core memories' with your loved-ones joining you, and in here…they'll be darn good memories for sure! Loud and colorful ones even!! The flavors are incredible, the building and its history will take you away, the menu is Cuban/Puerto Rican, and so, so traditional, (your own tia' would approve), the recipes go back generations, the service…just like family is joining you for dinner. And how about that location huh...and that one of a kind view! Seating is available inside and outside…It is Mammoth right?! My daughter and I came here 3 times during our stay. Our servers ultimately called us by name, and we were even introduced to the owners. Just lovely! My money is on you doing the same thing! Highly recommend this very special and unique establishment!

Wow! As an executive chef I am hard to impress. This restaurant is a gem. The food is fresh and FANTASTIC, the service is excellent and the atmosphere….. unforgettable! Watching the sunset at Mammoth while listening to great music and eating fabulous food is a perfect way to enjoy the evening. A must visit if you are at Mammoth or within 100 miles!

4.5 stars. Great little restaurant in Mammoth that gets busy, so we highly recommend reservations. It can be a little cramped so just be prepared to squeeze through tables. Their menu is overall delicious. We tried a bunch of things, but I'm sure the stuff we didn't try is also good. We started out with a carafe of Sangria. The Sangria is definitely one of the best I've ever had (and I love Sangria). We liked it so much, we got another carafe to end dinner with. Then came the Spanish potato and egg pie. Yum or delicious is not enough to describe this pie - hot, fried, perfectly seasoned...it was just the thing we needed on a cold night and an entire day of driving. I absolutely recommend this! This was followed by the 3 piece skewers (pork much better than the chicken), the crispy plantains (an absolute delight to eat, particularly with the garlic sauce and the sweet sauce they came with), the fried plantains (not really my style but they were also good), and the pickled chicken. The pickled chicken was disappointing. It wasn't as cooked as we would've liked it. The pickled liquid and onion with olives were very yummy. So, we ended up having that, rather than the chicken pieces. For the main, I got the manchego cheese and guava jelly sandwich because it was different and I wanted to try it. It had an option of adding ham. I did. Don't do it. The ham wasn't as crispy as I would've liked and it made the whole sandwich very salty. Without the ham, the sandwich was very yummy! Definitely on the sweeter side but totally worth it. I highly recommend it. The beef stew and the meat pie basically have the stew which is a highlight of the meal. Whichever one you take, you win! The bean soup accompanying them was also delicious. Again, I highly recommend it. This was our best dining experience in Mammoth. The food is worth the wait and pricing. An absolute must-check-out when you come here. P.S. the parking lot is the first left before the restaurant so please don't drive all the way to the restaurant building as you will be on a dirt road. The servers are nice but there could be a language barrier. The pricing is on the higher side.

Amazing! As Cubans living in Miami, we never expected to find such a delicious Cuban/Puerto Rican restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. We made reservations at 8:30 pm and were seated promptly. The food, the service and ambiance were excellent! You can tell the owner Christy loves what she does because she gave us great recommendations. We had the garlic bread, piñon with rice and habichuelas (red kidney beans), and pork with rice and black beans. Highly recommend checking it out, you won’t regret it.

This place has my favorite food in Mammoth and we went twice in one weekend. They seem to be reservation-only, but we were able to sneak in at one of their side tables without one. The seafood escabeche and piñon were amazing. Highly recommend. The service was pretty slow the days we went—it seems they are low on staff, so budget extra time if you come here. Also, the Guava Cider is dangerously good!

Phenomenal food and excellent service. We moved to CA from SoFLA more than a decade ago and have been searching for good cuban food ever since. We finally found it at Dos Alas. It's a culinary hug nestled in Mammoth Lakes. The mojo marinated pork is spot on, the escabeche is delightful, and the portions are large. The sangrias are also refreshing as well balanced. They are busy (be smarter than us and get a reservation) and so very accommodating to customers. All of the staff were so kind and made everyone feel welcome. Dos Alas made the trip!
